Testimonials

Since the day my daughter was first born in June of 2022, I've been told by multiple CLC's and a pediatric dentist that she has a lip tie and possibly a tongue tie. She is now nearly a year old and I finally decided to take her somewhere I could get a more definitive opinion from - the Tongue Tie Center. I am so happy I did. Dr. Saleha and her team are some of the most professional, kind and sympathetic people I have met, period. They go over the top to take care of you, make sure you are heard and deeply involved in the decision process. Dr. Saleha does not pressure you whatsoever. If you are looking to take your darling babe somewhere for an educated opinion on lip/tongue ties, this is the place. It is well worth the drive and the cost. I cannot overstate enough how respectfully and kindly you are treated here. If I could give ten stars, I would.

I had a great experience at Dr. Ritter’s office for my daughters lip and tongue tie procedure. The office is clean and organized. The front office staff was openly greeting, friendly and well spoken and polite. Dr. Ritter dental assistant was nice, helpful and was gentle handling my daughter while taking her to the back. Dr. Ritter is caring, nice and professional. She knows her information and doesn’t rush you through your consults. She wants you to ask questions so she can make sure she takes care of your concerns. I really appreciate the phone call before the appointment and the phone call after the procedure. The pre procedure packet and the thank you gift was a plus. I would definitely come back if I needed another lip and tongue release. I truly appreciate your office and the fast convenience of appointments you guys have.

Dr. Ritter and his staff were very welcoming, knowledgeable, and comforting during my baby girl’s visit. As a new Mom, I was worried at first but that quickly disappeared as I was explained the process. The procedure went quickly and she was back in my arms in no time. Thank you!!

Dr. Mahmud-Ritter is amazing and we highly recommend the Tongue Tie Center of Baltimore!! Our sons tongue and lip ties were evaluated and addressed the same day, which was great because the days really count with a newborn and breastfeeding. The wound site healed well and there was very minimal crying for our son during the procedure and with the aftercare stretches. Dr. Mahmud-Ritter and her staff were so thoughtful and made us feel comfortable not only with the procedure in answering all of our questions, but also in the office for our visit providing a nice private room stocked with snacks and drinks. We had a wonderful experience and would recommend them to any friend or family memb

“Drs. Jesse & Saleha Ritter were trusted to release my daughter's tongue & lip tie at 5 weeks old. The Tongue Tie Center staff and environment made me feel very comfortable with the decision during the consultation that I had the releases done the same day. One of my favorite things about the practice is that they dedicate their office and attention to only infants on Thursdays. I was very nervous about the stretches, but Saleha took her time and made sure I was comfortable with the post care before leaving the office. Follow up phone calls to check on my daughter were the cherry on top to excellent service.

The Tongue Tie Center also connected me to other support professionals (Lactation Consultant, CST & Chiropractor) for body work that would make the most of the releases. After each appointment, Lis in the office, would send a report to our selected support professionals so that they were all in the loop of the progression. My daughter has now completely healed from the release, and I am so glad we made the decision to get this done early and with the Tongue Tie Center of Baltimore.”

“Dr. Ritter and the staff at Smile Solutions were all courteous and informative. They made us feel welcome when we made a last minute appointment for an evaluation and procedure for our son. Everyone patiently explained the details - from insurance (thank you, Brittany, at the front desk!) to post-procedure recovery details - without rushing us. Thank you! ”

“We brought our newborn to The Tongue Tie Center of Baltimore to Dr. Saleha Ritter to have our baby’s tongue and lip tie (frenectomy) released. My wife was having issues with breastfeeding so we made an appointment with Dr. Ritter for a consultation to have our newborn examined. Dr Ritter completed a very thorough examination and provided us detailed information about tongue and lip ties. She was very clear about what we can expect and made sure all of our questions were answered prior to the procedure. The procedure was very quick and she used a new state of the art laser to release the ties. After the procedure Dr. Ritter took the time to make sure we were comfortable with post op care that is to be completed at home.

My wife and I were most worried about soreness/fussiness/irritability as a result of the release but our baby doesn’t seem to be bothered whatsoever, which was a huge sigh of relief. Our baby has been healing very well since the procedure and we did not have any feeding issues afterwards. We could have not asked for a more pleasant experience and would highly recommend anyone to come to the Tongue Tie Center of Baltimore if their child is in need of a frenectomy!”

My twins both had their tongue ties released with Dr. Ritter. What I liked best about Dr. Ritter is that there was no pressure to have the procedure done. In fact, she examined and diagnosed them both with tongue ties, but was completely in agreement with our thoughts to release the boy's tongue and lip tie because it was much more severe and to wait and see with the girl even though she had a tongue tie too. We did end up getting the girl's tie released as well because it was starting to affect breastfeeding.

One thing some parents may not be comfortable with is that parents are not with the baby when the frenectomy is performed. Personally, after watching my first son's frenectomy 5 years ago, I had no desire to be there for these two. I felt that the experience was a little traumatic for me and didn't have any added benefit for the baby to have me there and I actually felt I was kind of in the way. With Dr. Ritter, we sat in the front office while the procedure was done in another part of the office (I'm assuming so we didn't have to hear our baby screaming, although they said some babies don't even cry at all) and waited for just a few minutes while it was done. Then they brought baby back to us and gave us time to breastfeed him.

The office staff is also very professional and welcoming. The office space is lovely as well.

Dr. Ritter is very accessible for any questions and calls the night after the procedure to check on the baby. They were also able to fit us into their schedule very quickly. I believe they do all these appointments on Thursdays, which made it easier for us scheduling wise to know when our follow up was, how long it had been afterwards, etc. With twins, I have a hard time keeping track of anything!

“Dr Ritter is the best. As new parents dealing with tongue and lip tie we didn’t know what to expect. she thoroughly explained the process and what to expect after, and really made the whole visit stress-free. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and I’m so grateful she was recommended to us.”

— Rebecca

“My lactation consultant recommended Dr Ritter to fix my baby girl’s potential tongue and lip tie. Dr Ritter’s office was responsive for my request to schedule and got us in the next week. I called a couple days later to see if they had anything sooner and got lucky. Dr Ritter personally called me after I got all the information via email to ensure I didn’t have any questions. Our appointment the next day was very informative and we had my daughter’s tongue tie revised. Dr Ritter called a couple hours after we had been home to check in and always offered her personal phone to touch base. Very happy with the care we received by the entire office.”

Dr. Jesse and his staff performed our newborn son’s lip and tongue tie procedures and they were absolutely wonderful! As a new mom I was dreading it but our infant came out of the treatment room calm and quiet. I couldn’t believe it. The entire office was very clean, beautiful and complete with fresh baked cookies! Couldn’t have been happier with the experience. Thank you!

“Dr. Saleha Ritter made what could have been a miserable and stressful experience very manageable and positive. She was the first person in almost 3 months to make me feel like my concerns were valid and I wasn't just being an anxious mom. We were able to be seen within one week and the day of the procedure was extremely smooth (I highly recommend also having a lactation consultant there, Christina Berlett was AMAZING). Dr. Ritter went through a very comprehensive exam, asking lots of questions before even looking at his mouth. She explained his ties (he had a lip and posterior tongue tie) and the procedure in detail, what to expect afterwards, etc. and answered all of my questions thoroughly. After talking with her I felt extremely confident in our decision to have them released and how to handle the recovery.

The procedure itself was super quick, and they made sure our follow up appointment was already scheduled so I could leave as soon as it was done and I had nursed him. She called that night to see how he was doing, and was readily available for any questions I had before we saw her again for his follow up. My husband had to take him to his next appointment, but she called me that night to make sure I didn't have any questions and to see how I felt his feedings were going. Having the procedure done has made such a difference and I couldn't be happier this is where we chose to go. I've been recommending this place to every parent I know!”

“The week after our daughter was born, we pained our way through breast feeding. Our girl was inconsolable and each feeding had me in excruciating pain.

When we brought her to the Tongue Tie Center, it felt like a weight was lifted from our shoulders. The office and staff are equally warm and welcoming. Dr. Saleha Mahmud-Ritter was knowledgable and sincere. She shared all of our options, then, gave us time to process and make a decision without any pressure.

Since we got our little girls tongue and lip tie released, she is able to latch onto bottle and breast with ease, is less gassy, less tired after feeds and we also notice she turns her head both ways easier.

We are a much happier household and are so grateful for our experience with the Tongue Tie Center!”
